ABOUT

Rob Jansen is an award winning actor, director, playwright and theater educator based in Washington, D.C. He is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Theater and Performance Studies at Georgetown University where he teaches “The Art of Communication and Public Speaking” a course utilizing performance training to enhance leadership and presentation skills. He is the founder of Presencia a communication and public speaking program using performance techniques to help business executives, scientists, leadership teams, and professionals harness presence and confidence to connect more deeply with an audience, create collaborative workplaces and convey complex ideas in clear, compelling ways. He has taught public speaking training for FedTech, MITRE, Booz Allen Hamilton, EDENS, StartUp UMD, the Seed Foundation, University of Maryland at College Park, American University, Georgetown University and with Lead Scientists at NASA.  As an actor he has performed in professional theaters across the US including as a resident artist at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company where he acted in 26 productions of classic plays. He is a member of the Actors Equity Association and the Lincoln Center Directors Lab in New York City. Internationally he has worked in India, China, Canada, Poland, Ireland, Turkey, and across the U.K.  He has an MFA in Performance from the University of Maryland, College Park.
